Grant Staff & Summer Learning

posted Jul 11, 2013, 10:32 AM by Catina Haugen
So proud of our dedicated staff at Grant School. The summer is full of learning.  We have a teacher attending a three-week NEH sponsored opportunity called Native Americans of New England: A Historical View at the University of Massachusetts!  Six of our teachers are heading to the Google Summit at Sequoia High School in Redwood City.  Some even opted for two additional days of intense training by Googler-educators!  Most all of Grant's staff is immersed in a book or three... we all love to read!  STRAW Training is happening this summer as well for a few of our folk--environmental education in our own backyard!  Others already committed a few days to math unit building with grade level colleagues around the district.  Three dedicated teachers spent three days learning about our new writing program--Write From the Beginning.  It's tied to Thinking Maps and these three will be our staff trainers for 13-14.  Kudos to our dedicated staff--so proud!
