Grant Auction Information


GRANT SCHOOL 22nd ANNUAL SPRING FUNDRAISING AUCTION

Do you know exactly what the Grant annual Spring Auction does for our children and school?

We are so fortunate to be part of the Grant School community, our children have wonderful teachers and staff nurturing them everyday and a beautiful campus to explore and enjoy!  They also have a lot of opportunities that other schools do not offer and that is because of the PTA fundraising and parent participation and donations!

The Spring Auction raises over 50% of the total PTA donated revenue each year, the PTA uses these funds for things like:  

      Supplying teachers with $45 per student for school supplies (have you ever wondered why you weren’t in the school supply line at Target?)

      $25 per student for field trips

      PTA funds art and music programs

      Kindergarten Potluck for incoming families

      Welcome Back to School Coffee & Pastries

      Free Kid Movie Night

      Free Ice Cream Social in Sept

      Free Family BBQ 

      Talent Show 

      Performing Arts Program (Lion King Jr. 2017)

      $2500 office supplies

      2016-17: Bought 72” TVs for all classrooms

      School Assemblies – like the Lawrence Hall of Science 

      Supplement Music Class

      School Directory & Art Calendar

      Yearbook

      Staff Appreciation Week

      Emergency Preparedness

      Sponsorship: Mentor Me

      Art Show at Open House

      Campus Beautification:

This program raises money to make our school a better more up to date place for our kidsPast programs have funded:

      Playground remodels, toys and sports equipment

      Campus technology

      Creates campus beautification

DONATION/SPONSORSHIP DETAILS

Do you own a business or do you know people who do?  We are asking you to reach out for a good cause, your child and their friends!   We are looking for everything and anything we can turn into a silent auction lot, or a live auction experience.  Some ideas are:

      Broadway tickets

      Chauffeured drivers

      Vacation rental time, nights away/vacation homes in Tahoe/SF/Carmel (driving distance destinations or beyond)

      At home chefs

      Kid’s parties ideas/family fun

      Sports tickets: Cal, Stanford, Warriors, 49ers.

      Tangible donations, gift certificates or cash donations from restaurants, grocery stores, boutiques, automotive stores, beauty and well being business, after school activity packages such as music lessons, horseback riding lessons etc.

      Do you have a contact for:  Mac Arthur Inn or the Silverado?

The possibilities are endless.  The success of the Grant Spring Auction mainly depends on generous donations from families and local businesses.

Despite the fiscal challenges schools are facing, the PTA is committed to providing our students with the tools they need to succeed.  100% of the proceeds benefit OUR students.

Remember, your donations are tax deductible!


**NEW THIS YEAR AUCTION EVENT SPONSORSHIP**

We are introducing the Sponsorship Program for our Auction’s activities this year, examples:

Dance floor= $1000 donation

DJ= $750

Ambiance/decor= $500

We are accepting cash donations in any denomination and your company will be a featured business, we will have signs that read, “Generously donated by XYZ Company” and your company's name and logo will also be featured on all of our programs and information.    

**VOLUNTEERS NEEDED **

Volunteer positions that still need to be filled:

Working times may change but this is a good idea of what is needed.

Auction Set up crew:  (April 8th, approx work time is: 12pm-2pm)

Guest Check in crew: (April 8th, approx. working time is:  4:30p-7pm)

Auction Bid spotters: (April 8th approx. working time is: 7:45p-9:15pm)

Check out crew:  (April 8th, approx. working time is:  7:00p-10pm)

Auction Load Out Crew: ( These spots are actually needed at 10am-12pm on Sunday, April 9th, the day after the auction at Herzog Hall)

      Appetizers, dinner, dessert and coffee bar will be served and a cash bar will be available throughout the night. 

*PLEASE NOTE THE BAR WILL BE CASH MONEY ONLY,

NO CARDS accepted.*

      Dress for the event, period attire is totally recommended, it will only enhance the disco vibe and whimsy of the night!!  Need help with a costume:  Check out Heidi at Custom Costumes 927 Petaluma Blvd N, Petaluma, CA 94952  (707) 778-8833 OR “Google” is an awesome tool as well.  BTW these outfits do not have to break the bank! 

 

AUCTION PARTY TICKETS

TICKETS GO ON SALE MARCH 1st and sales end MARCH 31ST.  You can download the ticket order form here OR look for them in the Friday Folders in the coming weeks.  We will also be selling tickets at school on March 29th!  You can put your ticket order form and check in the Auction/PTA box in the office OR give it to your child’s teacher.  *Ticket order forms and Donation forms available for download on this page.

SOMETHING NEW AND SUPER EXCITING!

Do you ever go to drop off or pick up and get frustrated with the parking situation?  Or see the NO DROP OFF SIGN at the school lot and just want to kick it over…..well then you need to enter the:

Solid Gold Parking Spot Lottery

SOLID GOLD PARKING LOTTERY !!!

This year we are making the opportunity to grab hold of the coveted parent parking spot, more accessible to EVERYONE, you don’t have to be a auction bidder to win! 

We are offering ONLY 75 tickets at a purchase price of $50 per ticket, for a 1 in 75 chance to win this parking spot for the entire school year! 

Winning this spot in the school lot…well, It’s almost like having valet parking at drop off and pick up!! 

You do not have to be present to win, but the drawing will take place at the auction party.  We will sell tickets on a first come first served basis, we will sell the tickets at drop off and pick up in the Quad on dates to be announced soon.  

This is an amazing opportunity to make your day a little easier and all the revenue goes to our kids!!! 

***PARENTS, did you know this is a great thing to enter because it also is a donate, if you cannot make the auction party and who knows you may be the winner!***


RAFFLE

We are gearing up for a FANTASTIC raffle this year!  You can purchase raffle tickets through your class liaison OR in the office with Norma or on your ticket order form.  We will not be selling tickets the night of the event.  We will be releasing the raffle prize identities March 15th. CLASS THAT SELLS ALL THEIR RAFFLE TICKETS WINS ICE CREAM PARTY!

AUCTIONS Live & Silent

Again super fun and exciting things in the works for these auctions! We will be releasing some of the auctions lots on spotlight the week of March 15th.

CHILD CARE
The YMCA will be offering childcare the night of the Auction on the Grant Campus, more details to follow.
