CODE OF CONDUCT

BASIC RULES:

  1. We are respectful, helpful, and kind to everyone.
  2. We accept responsibility for our actions and required work, including homework.
  3. We follow the directions of all adults at school.
  4. We demonstrate respect for school property.
  5. We wear appropriate school attire and refrain from wearing hats inside the building, unless the teacher gives permission.

PLAYGROUND RULES/CAFETERIA RULES:

By following these behavior guidelines, students are more ready physically, emotionally, and mentally to reenter the classroom.

  1. Running is only permitted on designated playground areas. Students may not run in the hallways or any school walkways.
  2. The throwing of rocks, dirt clods, sand, food and other non-playground objects, is not permitted.
  3. Fighting, pretend fighting, or roughhousing will not be tolerated.
  4. Name-calling, put-downs, spiteful teasing, or deliberately hurting other students' feelings will not be tolerated.
  5. Swearing or use of bad language will not be tolerated.
  6. Students may not leave the school grounds without permission.
  7. Students are not permitted to enter classrooms without adult permission.
  8. Students may not play in the bathroom.
  9. Play should take place on designated play areas; not around or between classroom or storage units, near private property, or off school property.
  10. Each student is responsible cleaning up his/her own trash, especially after lunch and snack time.
  11. Rough or dangerous play, such as tackle football, chase games, climbing, karate, is not permitted anywhere on school grounds.
  12. While playing on bars, dangerous tricks, such as cherry drops and death drops, are not permitted.
  13. Students may not be excluded from participating in a game. Games may not be "locked".
  14. Students may not take a ball away from a game once it has started.
  15. Spitting is not permitted anywhere on campus.
  16. Bicycles must be walked on or off campus. The law requires that students wear helmets when riding bicycles.
  17. When the "freeze bell" rings, all playing stops. Students will freeze with both feet on the ground until the whistle blows. Then they will WALK to line.
