It is the intent of Grant Elementary School to provide all students with a learning environment from which an optimum educational experience can be obtained. Students who obey rules, respect others and take responsibility for their actions assist us in providing a secure climate in which learning can take place.
The staff of Grant Elementary School believes it is essential that we prepare our children for productive and effective citizenship by helping them to respect law and order, assume his/her responsibilities as a citizen, and learn s/he has freedom of choice and action, provided it does not infringe on the rights of others. We believe that we, as the teachers and parents, are our children's most important models, and as such, should ascribe to the same code of conduct to which we hold our students accountable.
This website and the complementary parent/student handbook are intended to assist students and parents to understand the rules and consequences for certain behaviors. In doing so, parents recognize the importance of school regulations and can assist the school in their enforcement. Students may also learn to make intelligent choices, and students who engage in violations of the Student Code of Conduct will be subject to the appropriate consequences.
